Skilling Program
The Challenge
Rural and tribal communities in Maharashtra continue to grapple with widespread unemployment and underemployment, particularly among youth and women. Limited access to quality education and vocational training restricts their ability to gain meaningful employment in today’s evolving and competitive job market. As a result, many are confined to traditional, low-income livelihoods or are compelled to migrate to cities in search of work. Furthermore, a significant mismatch exists between the skills possessed by local populations and the demands of the modern workforce—worsening the employment crisis in these regions.

Our Approach
SEVA Foundation’s Skill Training Program is designed to bridge this gap by empowering individuals with market-relevant skills that enhance employability and foster sustainable income generation. The program emphasizes vocational education, entrepreneurship development, and capacity building, all aligned with local economic opportunities. Using a community-based approach, SEVA ensures that training is practical, accessible, and tailored to the specific needs of rural job markets and industries.
